Seeking Mid-Level Industrial Hygienists with Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and Office Ergonomics Experience for IMMEDIATE Opportunities

 

** Full and Part-Time Positions**

 

WorkWell Associates, Inc. is seeking mid-level industrial hygienists for full and part time positions in the Washington D.C. area.  Positions include providing embedded support services to federal agency headquarters safety and health programs.  Excellent opportunities to work under the direction of a Certified Industrial Hygienist and/or Certified Safety Professional.

 

Key duties may include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Investigate complaints of unsafe working conditions & recommend corrective actions;
  • Conduct building safety, health, environmental inspections;
  • Provide support to worker’s compensation program
  • Conduct indoor air quality assessments;
  • Conduct ergonomics assessments (primarily office-type environments);
  • Conduct Internet literature searches dealing with safety and health topics;
  • Work with space planners to address potential IAQ issues associated with office building construction/renovations/refurbishing;
  • Review safety and health plans, procurement requests etc.;
  • Develop and implement basic industrial hygiene and ergonomics training programs;
  • Assist in the development of safety and health-related policies and procedures;
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of HQ occupant emergency plans; and
  • Support LEED, VPP, and HAZWASTE programs.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must be a qualified industrial hygienist with at least a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
  • Candidates must have a minimum 1-4 years of related work experience.
  • Candidates must have the ability to apply and interpret Federal OSHA regulations and other standards (Building Code, National Electric Code, and NFPA).
  • Candidates must have strong technical, verbal and writing skills, and be able to work independently and effectively in a headquarters office environment.
  • Candidates must be able to obtain a security clearance (Public Trust/Level 5).
  • Candidates must be able to wear a respirator and occasionally climb a ladder, access crawl spaces and perform similar physical duties during facility inspections.
